Side street searches

DR FINDS was born in the gaps between meetings, in cities far from home. While travelling for work, we discovered a different way to experience new cities. Exploring them through their unique commerce, noticing how it shaped the places we visited and how each city's character showed up in what people made and sold. We wandered through neighbourhoods in search of small local shops tucked down side streets, the ones tourists rarely find. Family-run stores in narrow alleyways. Markets where artisans sell pieces made by hand. And malls with global brands stocking pieces that simply aren’t sold in Australia.

The search was never for typical souvenirs, but for items with real stories and character. Things that felt special and personal – gifts that friends and family would actually use and remember.

Shopping back home often felt predictable by comparison. The same items turning up in store after store. But these overseas finds were different. They were pieces others weren't likely to have already seen or own.
